After a routine yearly service and maintenance appointment, JM Lapp notified me that my boiler was leaking, 25 years old and needed to be replaced. No one wants to hear that news, but JM Lapp 's professionals made the switch from the old one to a new boiler in two short days, provided me with plenty of space heaters, took special care to keep the areas clean and made an expensive event as painless as possible. I will continue to use JM Lapp in the future for all my plumbing, heating and air conditioning needs.

Our sewage ejector pump (the injector pit pump) died without warning on a Friday night, and within an hour of calling on Monday, Mike was at our door. They showed up exactly when they said they would, diagnosed the failed pump quickly, and had a new Myers unit installed and running that same day. We worked with JMLapp a few years ago when they installed a HVAC system in our home. While the cost was high then, we completely understood as it was a brand new system and they were very professional and great to work with. Unfortunately, just a month ago the system completely failed and even though it’s still under warranty, we were shocked to receive a bill of over $2,000 after they fixed it for us. I reached out to the company to better understand why the cost was so high as their invoice had no detailed explanation. When I called them I was told to leave a message and that I would hear back, but I never received a call back. We are extremely disappointed with both the unexpected expense and the lack of communication/clarification, and I cannot see us working with JMLapp again in the future.

This was my 2nd experience with JM Lapp. Matt did a great job the first time so I was happy to have him back to do some work in the bathroom. While he was there we noticed the hot water heater had a leak. He changed his schedule and came back in the afternoon to install a new one, meaning we were not without hot water over the weekend. I recommend JM Lapp for their professionalism, good customer service, reasonable prices compared to other companies and great service techs like Matt.

Matt King from JM Lapp did a terrific job at our home, installing a new kitchen faucet and two new toilets with bidet seats. He was very personable and took every precaution to keep his work areas clean, including laying drop cloths at the front door, along the hallways and in the work areas. He also removed all the old items, vacuuming out all the water and removed them dry. He really did a great job.Also, Jen Means did a terrific job in setting up the installation project, ordering the necessary items, and answering my questions.We would highly recommend JM Lapp, and commend these two people for a job well done!

It has been nine years since the Lapps plumbed our new custom home in Kennett Twp. The house is an open design with difficult locations to run the plumbing and you had to be a real super plumber to run the PEX supply and PVC waste lines. Well after all this time I’m pleased to report that we still have no leaks and the waste lines still flow freely with no clogs. Many thanks to the Lapps for their long-lasting excellent work.

This is a transcript from an email to JMLAPP in January...I installed a Nest thermostat and that's when the heat stopped working properly. [I've been a customer of JMLAPP at several properties, mainly for service work and they've done well responding and getting out in good time. After some trouble shooting with the Nest I realized it could be a system failure OR a Nest issue.]First JMLapp visit: I mentioned that I had changed the thermostat and the tech said that is definitely not the problem. He cited the Defrost Control Board [as the culprit].Second JMLapp visit: Installed Control Board. Still didn't work. Tech cited the Pressure Control switch but he by-passed the switch and said the heat will definitely work without it. [This is mid winter over the coldest period] It didn't.Third JMLapp visit: Tech brought the wrong switch and couldn't do anything. Again I mentioned the thermostat and he said "definitely not the problem".Fourth JMLapp visit: (not sure if there was a total of 3 or 4 visits but this is the sequence as I remember it) I asked for another thermostat to be brought along as I had thrown my old one out. A different tech came out and replaced the pressure switch and the heat still didn't work. He then proceeded to test the thermostat and found it to be a problem with the Nest. He also said he was "shocked that the other guy didn't realize this early on".I then received a bill for $1500+.I don't believe these charges are fair considering several visits should have been avoided. Not to mention $376 for a thermostat?? I'll return it and get my own if that's what you charge for a basic wifi thermostat.Fast forward 2 months. The next notice I receive is a Statement that includes a $31 finance charge.I don't mind paying a premium when there's communication and fair fees being charged.
